First Hand Proof✍️

John 4:39-42

39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”

40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.

41 And many more believed because of His own word.

42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Ben’s comments:

Earlier we learned of a woman without the best reputation. She met Jesus & she believed that He is the Messiah. She went and told men of her city. They were at least convinced enough to go out & see for themselves. Then they believed because they personally met Jesus.

What have we learned about Jesus that we should share with others? What a privilege!

What truth have we been told that we need to verify? Who could help us do so?

What truth about Christ have we let sit and not pursued?

These men wanted full understanding, so they invited Jesus to stay & teach them. After 2 days they say, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” They now know for themselves.

I sure would love to have heard His teaching those 2 days. But, I do have all His Word, which they did not have.

While we listen & learn from experiences & others, let us keep learning & verifying the truth from The Book📖
