Harvest Mentality🌾🥮🌾

 Harvest mentality is a great thing to watch. Its intensity & focus is should be sought.

 Growing up on a dairy farm, I saw men live on a totally different plane when they planted their crops & when they harvested. I remember my Dad milking the cows morning & evening, working at the feed mill all day & then going out to plow way into the night. I wanted to ride on the tractor with him. He let me & my brothers do so for a while, eventually he would send us to the house to get sleep for school the next day.

 I remember asking Mom about Dad’s sleep. She assured me he would get some, “but the job must be finished!” He could operate that way for several days, because of the intensity & because of the love for his family. He knew the crop would help provide for us. He was motivated by his love for us. If it wasn’t for Mom bringing food, I suppose he would work all day & night without eating much.

 Jesus speaks about harvest mentality in John 4:32, when He says, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” He was driven to finish His Father’s work.v34

 Harvest mentality is wrestling mentality. We often speak about the big matches like conference, regional & national tournaments. But my mentality is that your next match is the biggest match you will ever have. The next event in your life is the biggest event of your life. Treat it like harvest time & you will find yourself advancing & doing better then you have before. And gather motivation from those you respect & love.

 My brother John & I won the Olympics, one match at a time. We faced each match with all our attention. We learned harvest mentality as young boys & proved it’s value in our wrestling. Today we still focus & get empowered by honoring Jesus Christ & our loved ones.
