TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES

REST PERIOD:  Fifteen-minute (15) rest periods between matches will be honored.  Referees will check hair, skin, and fingernails.  Those who choose to double-bracket do not get a 15-minute break.

REQUIRED GEAR:  Wrestling attire is required of all contestants. FOLKSTYLE - Headgear is Mandatory for 13 and under and Optional for 15 and above including the Open division. FREESTYLE - Headgear is optional for everyone. Mouthpieces for braces and strongly recommended but not required.

RULES:  RMN Modifications to NFHS Rulebook V12. The National Federation of High School Rule Book with RMN Modifications will apply.

HEAD INJURIES:  A certified Trainer will make the medical determination concerning a wrestler’s ability to continue after concussion protocol.

PROTEST & VIDEO REVIEW:  Challenge & Review Procedure. RMN no longer requires a flag for protest. First, approach the mat scoring table to seek an equitable resolution. Only rule interpretations and scoring/timing issues may be considered. Ask in the form of a question, not a statement. Falls and points awarded are an official’s judgment and may not be challenged. If, after meeting with the official, you have further questions, you may ask for the Head Official. Both wrestlers and coaches must remain on the mat until the matter is resolved. The Head Official may elect to review a situation, especially those that happen at the end of a period. Once the Head Official arrives at a decision, it is final. Once a winner has been declared and the wrestlers have left the wrestling area, no further changes may be made.

MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN: Unfortunately, we have a strict must-be-present-to-win policy, therefore we do not ship awards. If you are attending a future RMN Events, just let us know a week in advance and we will make sure we bring the previous award with us. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

SAFETY:  CHILD ABUSE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, ETC., WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.  IF YOU CANNOT ABIDE BY THESE EXPECTATIONS, SECURITY WILL ESCORT YOU FROM THE FACILITY FOR THE DURATION OF THE TOURNAMENT.

ROOKIE DIVISION: Rookie division is for competitors with 2 calendar years or less of wrestling experience from the start of their first competition.
