Impatience for Good🤼♂️
John 4:46b-49
46b And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”
49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir come down before my child dies!“

Have you ever been impatient? Did that impatience turn to sin?
Is Jesus voicing impatience?v48
If so, He’s using it to test this man’s faith or to drive him to faith.
Impatience does not have to be sin. It can be used to drive us to good. It is when we get mad at ourselves and others that it can turn to sin. Jesus is not sinning with His direct statement. But, I do see His impatience driving Him to be direct and to verify the faith of this man. He’s in a crowd. He has a short time. He gets right to the point.
I think Jesus is amazed at how long it takes mankind to believe.
I don’t need to give a wrestling example to verify the sin of impatience, nor to illustrate the good use of it. It is repeatedly around us. The key is to have drive and use it with balance and purpose.
A thought came to my mind that I needed to speak to somebody about something difficult. It would be hard. I wasn’t sure what to do. I asked one of our wrestlers what he thought. His answer, “Coach, when you have a hard thing, just do it.” I did, and good came from it.
May God help us use our impatience to do good, now. He did!
