Proverbs 4:10-13

10 “Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,

And the years of your life will be many.

11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;

I have led you in right paths.

12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,

And when you run, you will not stumble.

13 Take firm hold of instruction, don’t let go; Keep her, for she is your life.”

Ben's Comments:

 There is a humble, urgent, dependence described in these verses. Such words as:

v10 son, receive,

v11 taught, led,

v12 walk, steps that could be hindered,

v13 hold on tightly.

 These all describe the the value of wisdom. It keeps us on the right path with stability. We can lose wisdom, so keep a firm hold, for wisdom “is your life.”v13

 Avoid slothful lazy thinking, excuses, procrastinations & just floating thru life. It is so easy to do so. We must all shake off indifference to wisdom for it brings:

v10 long life

v11 the right path

v12 stability

v13 life.
