Verify the Truth👀👀

John 5:31-36

31 “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true.

32 There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.

33 You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.

34 Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.

35 He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.

36a But I have a greater witness than John’s;”

Comments:

Often we question the truth of a man's claims or bragging of himself. If we only hear from them, it is in doubt. Same is true with Jesus. He honestly acknowledges His claims need verification.v31&32

The obvious witness was John the Baptist. But, Jesus does not accept John as His second witness. As truthful as John's witness was, Jesus has greater witness.v33-36

We often hear people brag about their accomplishments. When we question their claims we always want to hear from someone else, we want a second opinion. Jesus knows He needs the same.

I have learned not to make too big of claims. If others are not near to verify, it will be looked on as bragging. It is best to let someone credible introduce our accomplishments to others.
