Real Love💛

John 5:42-47

 Jesus continues:

42 "But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.

43 I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?"

Comments:

Jesus is speaking hard & direct to us now:

 v42 He says those who hear Him do not have God's love. So I ask myself, do I truly love like God does. So much of my love is tied to my own selfish benefits. God's love is genuine. Oh, to have real love.

 v43 Jesus, came in His Fathers name. But, men had trouble receiving Him. It really is easier for us to trust another person. Often it is really hard to trust God.

v43 When we seek man's honor instead of God's, we trust men more than God. This is a hard truth for us to live out. I think Jesus is speaking of a higher plane of love than we normally know.
