SKIN CHECK: Boys & Girls
Leave your singlet straps UP or two-piece uniform in place for skin check. Do NOT remove your straps.
NOTES: Clip your fingernails in advance! Nails should be cut short so that you cannot feel them when you push in.
If you have an active skin condition, go to the Home Page>More>Rules and download the current NFHS Skin Condition Medical Clearance form and bring the signed and dated form to weigh-ins.
The head official and trainer have the final say on whether a wrestler with a skin condition is allowed to compete.
WEIGH-IN: – Boys & Girls
wrestling attire – wrestling singlet or a two-piece compression shirt and shorts without pockets as designed by manufacturer and approved by NFHS.
NFHS UNIFORM GUIDELINES: " All contestants wearing a one-piece singlet shall wear a suitable undergarment that completely covers the buttocks and groin area. Female wrestlers wearing a one-piece singlet and or a form-fitted compression shirt shall wear a suitable undergarment that completely covers their breasts and minimizes the risk of exposure." (Rule 4.1.c)
COMPETITION:
For competition, all gear worn under the uniform and on the body must be tight-fitting. You may wear tights. (as long as they have a knee pad, either as part of the tight or over top of the tights)
Long Sleeve Shirts are NOT allowed unless a medical condition exists. Please bring medical form stating the required need for the long sleeve shirt to the assistant head or head official to verify. The assistant head or head will inform each mat official that your athlete will be on of the allowance of the long sleeve shirt.
Wrestlers are not allowed to perform weight loss activities anywhere in the weigh-in or mat area. To do so may jeopardize your participation in the event.
NOTE : For Heavyweight Groups, the best attempt will be made to match the wrestlers without creating a safety issue. As a general rule, we use 20% as a guideline for difference in weights.
